The Citadel is a developing community of Patriots in the mountains of Idaho who believe in Jefferson's Rightful Liberty and have chosen to live amongst one another, and have sworn our lives, our fortunes and our Sacred Honor to defend one another and Liberty.

Back to work
We appreciate your patience. The last week found the Citadel swamped with overwhelming support and interest from across America and beyond! We've added many new applicants/reservations, accepted hundreds of email enquiries, and worked very hard to provide as many answers as possible. Even now we still have emails that remain unanswered, but we promise to get to each and every one for you.
We are working on a second FAQ to help answer the most common questions received over the last week. We also have several announcements coming over the next days regarding our corporate officers, near-future plans, and other developments. As you all know this project is in the very earliest stages and circumstances will impact our course.
One clarification for Media visiting this blog and our official website: The parcel of property currently owned in Benewah County Idaho is not the location of the Citadel, it was never intended to be the site of the Citadel, and obviously would be physically impossible to serve as the site of the Citadel. The Benewah County parcel of property is intended to serve as an administrative center for the project and for related businesses. Development of this site will begin during the Spring/Summer of 2013 after submitting the proper paperwork to the county for consideration.
Media Requests: Please see our media link on the navigation bar above. It remains too early in the development of this project to sit for proper interviews. Announcements and Press Releases will be issued here and at our official website: IIICitadel. Our Spokesmen will begin to sit with select media when appropriate, and until then Media are invited to use the information on our sites for background.
Applications/Reservations: For all of our supporters who have submitted applications/reservations in line for the Citadel, you will soon receive an email from one of our staff that includes an invitation to a private online forum where you can meet the many Patriots already involved in the project, discuss plans, help us evolve and refine the project, and receive confidential updates.
Our sincere thanks to everyone who has shown such outstanding support and patience. We all look forward to a brilliant and productive 2013.
Look for important announcements, soon!

Breathe
Breathe
Many of you are new to the Citadel Project, and have a million
questions. We ask you first read our FAQ's. Read about us, digest the
information, sleep on it. Don't rush into this, take your time to fully
understand what we are about and what it is you want. This is a life
changing decision, don't take it lightly. Take a step back and think
for a while. If we don't answer your questions right away, it's ok,
relax, breathe, we'll get to it in due time.
Again, we are all volunteers here with day jobs and families to attend to, please be patient with us. Thank you.

We are posting this on all of our media. We are temporarily turning off comments. We have gotten a lot of media exposure in the last few days and our traffic has really jumped.
For those of you with comments that have been submitted, we will get to them. We understand your concerns. The reality is that many of the detail questions don't have answers yet. Much remains to be decided. Some questions won't be answerable until we have a site picked out. Some questions won't be answerable until the current political turmoil settles, one way or another. Some answers will change as we go forward. We will adapt to whatever situation develops.
An important point to remember is that this isn't a top down, everything planned by us community. What we are building is a framework of Liberty and security that Patriots can build their own life in. Much of what has been initially proposed is no more than a draft version to start working from. It will grow and change and develop as we go forward.
Many of your questions are "why aren't you building/providing/doing _______?" We believe free markets are the best way to provide the goods and services that will be needed by the Citadel. If you don't like that answer, the Citadel is probably not a good fit for you. The III Arms Company will provide the initial financial base to get started, but beyond that those who move to the Citadel will need to bring work or income with them or have employment with a current business already arranged. We aren't going to paint a rosy, unrealistic picture of what is needed. We aren't in this to "sell" something. We are in this to build the community we want to live in. It's not going to be easy and it's not going to be simple. Don't let that discourage you if you are interested, just be realistic about what it's going to take to do this.

Our Community
The Citadel project has been an amazing experience. The community we have created in a very short time is incredible. A group of dedicated volunteers, working together on a project we truly believe in. Creating the future that we want instead of waiting around for the future to just happen to us.
When I first heard about the idea, I was hooked. It's the type of thing that I might daydream about but not ever consider as a real possibility. Even something as modest as the idea James Rawles had in his book "Patriots", a small group of friends buying property together in northern Idaho was more than I could hope to achieve.
As I look at the comments, the thing that really jumps out at me is the number of people who think this isn't just a good idea or an interesting idea but a life changing idea.
We have many amazing folks who are just waiting for the last pieces to fall into place to head to Idaho. Machinists, IT specialists, ex military, medical, education, farmers, a successful professional land developer - the list is awesome and growing daily. The extensive knowledge and experience of those who are ready to go is impressive. We will have everything we need to make a thriving community.
Some folks have a hard time believing that our philosophy of Rightful Liberty isn't just a marketing slogan. I have been a part of this project from the beginning and I can tell you that it is for real. It doesn't matter who you are or where you are from. All that matters is a genuine belief in Rightful Liberty. Racists, bigots, sexists or any other form of "ists" that need someone to hate need not apply. If you can't defend your neighbor's life and liberty as vigorously as your own, regardless of who or what they are, you have no place in the Citadel.
The only negative I can think of in this whole idea is that ultimately we won't have room for everyone who wants to live in the Citadel. The amount of interest we've had already without any promotion effort beyond our blogs and some forums makes me believe that. We've had exposure now on nationally know web sites, like the Drudge Report, so we expect that process to accelerate.
For everyone who has questions, please be patient. As I said, we are all volunteers and this project is still in its very early stages. There is much work to do and much to still be decided. We will keep you posted here and on the web site as to our progress.

Welcome to 2013!
Events in recent weeks have proven how prudent our concept of developing a community of like-minded Americans is for most of us. We have moved far beyond the "Should we do this..." and "Can we do this..." stages, and we are well into the "We are now doing this!" stage.
Spring will find us beginning to develop our Beachhead. Circumstances will dictate what happens afterward, and at what pace. The politics of Gun Control and how any new potential laws/regulations may affect our Keystone industry will certainly influence our course and speed, at least to some degree. But onward we will continue, and create our Safe Haven.
Media interest from many outlets continues. Media: Please see our Media Page.
Patriotic Americans from coast to coast and border to border have expressed their support of this project, and we are thankful for the well-wishes. We will continue to evolve our community and we will add neighbors one household at a time until we have reached our goal of a vibrant community of like-minded Americans who choose to live among one another, with shared traditions and values.
2013 has already begun with turbulence from the Political Class. It will only get worse.
The Citadel is the answer for some of us.
