Purpose

We are getting close to the point of accepting applications to live in the Citadel. Because of that, there is an important concept that needs to be stressed again - the purpose of the Citadel.

The purpose of the Citadel is staying alive. Making it through an expected period of social/economic/political collapse. Coming out the other side with a civil society intact. Having civil society intact is important. That's one of the important things that makes staying alive worthwhile.

There is no political association, no religious association, no agenda to the Citadel other than protecting the residents. They will have their own associations and agendas, of course, as do all people. The builders of the Citadel have aspirations of what can be accomplished to protect and restore Liberty in America. Those are separate, however, from the primary purpose of the Citadel - protection of the residents.

There are many other benefits to the Citadel, to be sure, even if a collapse never happens. Security, living in a community of like minded individuals and living in a resilient community that is prepared and can survive a wide range of events. Being in a planned community rather than one that grew haphazardly. Making a home in a place with a low cost of living and a high quality of life. Especially, being in a place where people don't freak out when they see a gun. All those good things and more.

You can't enjoy any of those good things, though, if you are dead or a slave to a tyrant. The Citadel, the concept of Rightful Liberty and the Patriot Agreement are how we plan to stay alive to accomplish all of our other goals. The Patriot Agreement is demanding, because we expect staying alive to be hard if the worst case scenario happens. It is our promise to each other and our plan to be ready.

As you contemplate all of the great potential the Citadel has, don't ever forget that first purpose - protection, staying alive. Everything else is a benefit you enjoy after achieving that first goal.

IMAGE

I once worked for a company that brought in an image marketing company from Seattle to evaluate and then re-educated it's employees.  It was quite a process, taking several weeks.  First the image company just wandered around the business, noting everything.  Products, service, displays & merchandising, and last, but not least, personalities.  After a very intense period of scrutiny the image company identified what they thought the problem areas were, and then they set about to correct them.  Some things were quite minor, others, a pretty big effort was involved to get that particular area on track.   It all involved re-training and re-educating  the entire staff, from the lowliest position to the biggest big wig.

Do you know what I still remember about that experience?  Perception IS Reality.  That's right. Basically, whatever some one's impression is of you or something, especially the first impression, it usually, remains their Reality.

So, what I want to ask all of you, is this?  What image do you want to project about the Citadel?  What image do you want to project about your future neighbors, friends, and family?  What image do you want to project about yourself?  When people ask you questions about it, do you know how to articulate what we are trying to accomplish?  It can be tricky.  Are you well versed in how it has come about?  How about the requirements to live there?  How about the WHY of it all?  Can you honestly tell them, without sounding like a wacko?

It is going to take all of us, being ambassadors of the Citadel, to make sure we project the correct image.  I don't know about you, but, if I were to guess, I'm sure that you're just like me, in that you don't really want people whispering behind your back that you're some militia separatist who wants to set up their own country up in Benewah county.

Okay, I have to back up on that statement and explain a bit.  First, I think a great majority of the people that are III and are attracted to this project probably have a modus operandi of being quiet, live and let live, and leave me the hell alone type of people.  Most of us, probably don't really care what anyone thinks of us.  But...here's the kicker.  If we are serious about being III Patriots, if we are serious about making the Citadel a PHYSICAL REALITY and then living our DREAM we sign up to have each other's backs.  We have to care about our image and the image that is projected upon the Citadel, because it reflects upon each and every one of us.

That, if you think about it, is very sobering.  That is a lot of responsibility, much like owning and using a firearm.  Once again, it is distilled down to Responsibility, Loyalty, and Liberty.

So, those of you who are serious about the Citadel, join me in promoting a knowledgeable and transparent image of us and the Citadel.  There are so many wonderful aspects of the Citadel, it would be such a waste to not let those attributes shine.  Don't let an opportunity to promote the Citadel in a positive light be overcome by the negativity that we know we are going to have to fight every day until we can prove ourselves.  That might take some of us our lifetimes, so be prepared to go the distance.  Many of you have expressed the relief, the joy you felt when you found out about Citadel project.  Let that joy shine through when you describe the Citadel and the Liberty it represents.

Citadel: Frame of Reference

**UPDATE** Sorry, the scale was off on the outer markers.  We'll try to get another image up in short order.

I have outlined a random 3,000 acres in Benewah County, and then outlined one square mile and 2 square mile perimeters inside, to give everyone a frame of reference of what we are looking to encompass.

3,000 acres is a BIG chunk of property.  As you can see by the map, there are many mountain peaks and valleys in this random grab.  One square mile is the minimum walled city, and 2 miles (yellow) is the maximum walled area.

Consider defense.  Consider farming and livestock.  Consider all of the details that will be necessary to make it work, make it safe.

Zoom down and really get a grasp for just how much physical property is there.

More coming soon.

Choices

Some people have reservations about the Patriot Agreement and its requirements. That's understandable, as those requirements are fairly strict. However, we look at it as a group of people who voluntarily shake hands, look each other in the eye and promise, "this is what we will do to defend ourselves and each other." That's not the same as some "higher authority" imposing a set of rules on us.

The thing that makes us unique compared to any similar effort in the past is the option to live inside or outside the wall and participate as much or as little as you choose. You could live outside the wall but still be a member of our militia and carry your gun when you are in town as a matter of personal choice. You could have arrangements made for food and supplies to be stored inside the wall and arrange for emergency shelter also. Or you could just enjoy living in the Liberty oriented community that will grow up around the Citadel. It's up to you. We believe strongly in freedom of choice.

There are definite benefits to living inside the wall, such as greater security, especially during a collapse scenario. There are other benefits to living outside the wall, such as the ability to live on a larger property. It is your choice to decide what trade off of costs versus benefits best serves your needs.

It's very important, though, to always remember that the fundamental purpose of the Citadel is survival in a collapse scenario. There are many benefits to living in a Liberty oriented community in the mean time, but don't ever forget that core purpose. We will defend the Citadel and the surrounding area to the best of our ability in accordance with our natural right to self defense. To be blunt, though, so there can be no misunderstanding, if the time comes that we have to close the gate only those who live inside or have made arrangements will be automatically allowed in. Anyone else who wants in will be evaluated on a case by case basis.

You always have choices. Just remember that those choices have consequences. Be fully informed, decide what works best for you, what is worth the cost and then be ready to live with the consequences of those choices. Picture yourself standing outside that closed gate. At that point, might you be thinking that the Patriot Agreement wouldn't have been too high a price to pay to be on the other side?

Guerrillamerica Interviews III Arms

III Arms Company Interview, III%, III%er, IIIpercenter, threeper, threepercent, threepercenter, liberty or death

Guerrillamerica has an interview up with Miller of III Arms Company.

Head over there and get to learn a little more about Miller and III Arms.

Let's get this out to the Patriots who haven't heard of us yet, spread the news!

For Patriots, By Patriots: An Interview with III Arms Company CEO

Rightful Liberty

If you are considering moving to the Citadel it is crucial that you understand this concept and what it implies for you. It is the philosophical basis for our community and if you don't understand it, you can't live it.

Most people are good with the first part, "unobstructed action according to our will", and typically this is what they think of when they hear the word liberty. Unfortunately the second part, "within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others", is frequently ignored or misunderstood. Folks, this is an ABSOLUTE limit on your actions. However,  it's not about rules or laws and an iron fist enforcing them. It is about self restraint and self control. It is about being aware of how your actions affect those around you and recognizing when those actions infringe on their equal rights. It is about caring about those equal rights of others. Laws and rules don't create Rightful Liberty. Individuals do, by their day to day actions.

Most people don't seem to understand this and, of those that do, many would be unwilling to actually live it. Self restraint and self control are not highly valued in our society any more. A common attitude is, "if there isn't a rule against it then it's ok for me to do it, no matter what." If you live in a quiet residential neighborhood and have to ask, "what if I want to have a loud, drunken party at my place all night?", then you don't get it.

If you are not willing to accept the responsibilities that come with Rightgful Liberty along with the benefits, don't apply to live in the Citadel. You won't fit in and you won't be welcome. You will be a liability instead of an asset. Remeber, the Citadel is a survival plan. We will have to trust and rely on each other for it to work. A true respect for Rightful Liberty will be the basis for that trust.

Is Your Family Prepared?

thanksgiving dinner with family, is your family prepared?

Thanksgiving is upon us.  This is a time for families to come together, a time to count your blessings.

It is also a great time to find out who you can count on in your tribe, should SHTF.  Do they have preps?  Good.  But more importantly, do they have skills?  Networks?  A plan??

I have been asking these questions with my family for a while now, and there are three common answers for those that think they are prepared:

  1. I have guns, so we're ok
  2. I have some extra food, so we're ok
  3. Should it get that bad, we'll just get in the car and drive to ____
There are flaws with all of these, the major ones are PLANNING and COMMUNICATION.  The time to figure out the details is not after the S hits the fan, but long before.

Use the coming family gatherings to build your tribe and build your network.  While you are at it... you may want to mention III Arms Company and the III Citadel.

I'll let you go with this thought... If there is an "event" in your town, TODAY, what are you going to do?

The time for excuses is over, the time for action is now.  Your family is depending on you.

Recruiting Opportunity

Secession, Secede from the Union, Petition to Secede

There are HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of people who have signed their State petitions to secede from the Union. Will anything come of this? Probably not. This just goes to show you how many people are out there that are FED UP with the current trajectory of this Nation.

How does this benefit the III Citadel? This is a recruiting opportunity. Reach out to those who are fed up, to those who want to want to live in Rightful Liberty. Show them there is a light in the tunnel, a beacon in the night, and true Patriots in their ranks!

B.Y.O.B.

Books, Used Books, Bring Your Own Books

Books, that is. Bring Your Own Books.

The Citadel is a survival plan, pure and simple. We are anticipating some level of social/political/economic collapse and are building a defensible location to ride out the storm.

As part of that plan the Citadel needs to have its own library. Good old fashioned paper, in case the collapse goes full grid down and all of our wonderful electronics are of limited or no use. We especially need to have reference material, how to, history and educational materials (reading, writing and 'rithmatic). Of course a good selection of fiction has its place as would a good children's book section.

Many of you are probably like me and have accumulated a collection of these types of books over the years. They are heavy and take up a lot of room so I had been thinking of selling or giving most of them away. Now, however, I'm going through them and bringing the good ones to the Citadel to be donated to the library. If you are in the same situation and can afford the weight and space, please consider bringing your books with you and donating them to the Citadel library.

Our library will help preserve both our knowledge and our culture. In its own way it is as vital to our future as our food, water, firearms and city walls.

Announcement

Congratulations, fellow Patriots!  III Arms Company hit an essential benchmark on Tuesday, November 6th regarding sales, and as a result we are confidently and immediately moving forward with the development of the Citadel.

CLD will be the company we use to advance the Citadel Project.  Once the final load of concrete has been poured and the last residents settled into their new homes, we will close this company and transfer the operation of the Citadel to a Trust or some other legal entity capable of surviving the generations for our posterity.

I am very pleased to announce that three key positions within CLD have been accepted by extraordinary Patriots who are already known to you.

Miss Violet, Teresa Sue Hoke House, has accepted the position and responsibilities of President.

Vernon (Dukkbutt) and Jake (Bonnie Gadsden) have accepted official positions on the Citadel Steering Committee.

We are confident this team of true Patriots will help the Citadel Project reach all of its goals.  Every Patriot who considers life in the Citadel can trust that Teresa Sue, Jake, and Vernon speak officially for the Citadel and will help everyone find the answers they seek about the Project.

Our new President, Teresa Sue, has lived in the general area of the future Citadel for many years.  She is also a land-owner directly in the AO and already has a working relationship with many people in the area.  In addition to her direct knowledge of the AO, she brings unique professional and life experience to the Citadel Project.  She is inherently forthright, impeccably ethical and imbued with indispensable real-world common sense.

Vernon and Jake have consistently demonstrated a profound understanding of the goals of the Citadel Project with a unique and erudite ability to articulate the Citadel concept.  These fine gentlemen cogently promote its vision and interact with people -- especially newcomers to this complex idea -- in a manner that is professional, dignified, and authentic. They are excellent Ambassadors for the ideal of Rightful Liberty.

We are very proud that these fine Patriots have such confidence in the Citadel Project to willingly take on additional responsibilities for helping it become reality.

Thank you Teresa Sue, Vernon, and Jake.

Resilient Communities

If you aren't familiar with John Robb you need to go check him out.

www.resilientcommunities.com

What he is talking about is EXACTLY what the Citadel needs to be. Local production of food, water and energy. A community based effort to not be dependent on large, fragile, remote systems that you have no control over.

Interestingly enough, one of his other primary recommendations is that a resilient community needs to have local manufacturing of products that can be sold nationally or internationally. That means the business based on that product is not dependent on the local economy. It's especially good if the product is custom, semi-custom or unique in some way so as to make it a high value added item. One of his examples is a custom bicycle shop that ships its products all over the world. Sound anything like a recently started firearms company to you?

As I understand it, he got his start analyzing 4th Generation Warfare, especially the ability of non State actors to disrupt large systems with minimal effort. He became well know enough to be invited to present his information to places like the Pentagon and CIA. His analysis lead to the next logical step - strategies to counter those capabilities. The strategy that he came up with is decentralization - Resilient Communities.

Even if the Citadel is not for you, go check him out. It's well worth your time.

Food Preps - 99 Cans of Food on the Wall

Now that the election is over, time to get back to your preps.

The III Citadel is designed to be a self-reliant community. That means each household will store their own food supplies to get them through hard times.

Here's one great idea on how to store your cans and not take up too much floor space.

And since you guys are here... don't forget to 'like' our Facebook page: Facebook.com/IIICitadel.

Citadel & III Arms: Now is the time

Many Patriots have worked tirelessly to support the Citadel project, which is fundamentally dependant upon the success of III Arms as a source of revenue.  All of that work has brought us to this day - the day when III Arms has opened for business!

If you are able to buy an AR or 1911 today, we hope you will support III Arms and the Citadel by buying from the Patriots at III Arms.  The hope is that today will help set a high watermark and good omen for the future of III Arms by processing as many orders as possible.  Both the 1911 and AR offered by III Arms are "semi-custom" offerings, with many options incorporated as standard features, and reliability built into the firearms to ensure their status as Fighting Arms.

If you can support these efforts, drop by at IIIArmsCompany.com and see if your preps will benefit by adding a new rifle or handgun made by Patriots, for Patriots!

For everyone offering moral support, thank you!

Why the Citadel: It isn't New York

An interaction with a well-known customer this afternoon shed some direct insight to the situation in New York City.

My customer is part of the 1%.  Her son is about 2 years out of college, and lives in lower Manhattan, working in the finance industry.  He's a typical suburbanite kid (yes, I am now of an age that I call 20-somethings "Kids"), meaning he has zero understanding of how the steak gets onto the styrofoam tray at the meat counter.

On Monday night he realized he may have made a mistake by remaining in the city, and called his mother here in the DC area.  She told him to go buy food.  He bought a box of cereal, a dozen eggs, and a gallon of milk.  He lives with his girlfriend, a room mate and a dog.

The cereal and milk were gone Tuesday.  They found an open pizza joint, and never thought to buy a few to go.  They ended up walking 40 blocks uptown to find an open store for food.  They decided that was a one-time walk.  There were Predators about.

Mommy drove to New York and put them all in her very expensive SUV and brought them all (Son, girlfriend, room mate and dog) back to the McMansion in DC.

I ask you to consider all of the ramifications of this single story.

Then consider what happens when DC is powerless as well, and Mommy can't drive to NYC.

For those people who do not have the common sense to buy more than a box of cereal and eggs (which most people would prefer to cook prior to eating, and requires power and fuel to do so), when there is no lifeline, they will begin to lose the veneer of civility very quickly.  Most will die, either of hunger, disease or violence.

There will never, ever, be such circumstances in the Citadel.

The Citadel requires the support of Patriots if it is to become reality.

November 6th, vote for Liberty.  Vote for Common Sense.  Buy a weapon from III Patriots who joined forces and took a leap of faith, and began III Arms Company.  Please tell your friends and family that the 6th is a day to show support for our Founding Ideals.  Please ask them to consider buying their next 1911 or AR on Tuesday, from III Arms, at IIIArmsCompany.com.

III to III.

Wanted

Some of us don't tattoo....but that doesn't mean we don't want it known where our hearts are. That is why I need a Silversmith.

Are there any III out there that are silversmiths?  I'm interested in commissioning some III jewelery to sell at the III For All Farmers Market in the Citadel.  Please contact me at tsdhmv@gmail.com

Any profit from the sale of this III jewellery would be  given to the Citadel Operations fund, the Citadel Society, or another approved III project that we can all vote on.
